Silk ribbon embroidery by Carol Anderson of Carol’s Yarn Barn in Scottburgh, Natal

Greetings from a very windy and chilly Cape Town

Hope you are well and happy and enjoying your embroidery wherever you are in this world. I have something lovely to show you by Carol Anderson who owns the legendary Carol’s Yarn Barn in Scottburgh on the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa

Carol’s rendition of House with a Picket Fence is simply exquisite. I love the colours that she used, the way she built the trees in the background and the flowers in the front.

If you are lucky enough to be visiting the South Coast, do pop into Carol’s shop while you are there. You are sure to find some lovely treasures! Carol’s Yarn Barn stocks my ribbons and panel etc. for embroidery ….if you are staying for a while, ask about ribbon embroidery classes that they may be offering.

Until then have a good week and don’t forget to e-mail me some photos of your embroidery to share with everyone…  it’s such a lovely way to learn, especially for embroiderers who live in remote areas and do not have access to teachers and shops. My e mail address di@dicraft.co.za

Take care
